Dimensions
We can produce any size countertop, with a maximum size for a single seamless piece of 84” X 120” (213 cm x 305 cm). Standard thickness is 1.5”. Thicker countertops are also available for custom projects.
Finishes
The final look of your countertop is a function of many criteria:
- Size and shape
- Texture selected
- Glass color
- Substrate (material) under the glass
- Edge treatment
Cabinet Finish
Since glass is translucent you must finish the surface on which the glass countertop will rest. Choice of finish, whether stainless, copper, painted or laminate, will add color or highlight the texture of your countertop.
Sink and faucets
Faucets, plus overmount or undercounter sinks are simple to install. Each sink requires a minimum frame of glass 3” wide on all sides for stability.
Embedded art
Imagine preparing your gastronomic masterpiece over a work of glass art designed by renowned master Mailhot, creator of the great Bellagio Chocolate Fountain. Inspired by your own ideas and style, Mailhot first creates an original drawing, then adds textures and colors to his glass to bring your personalized artistic countertop to life.
Characteristics of glass
Your ThinkGlass countertop is created via a manufacturing process that renders each finished work unique. Glass is an organic product, so there are normal variations within the glass that are part of its natural beauty.
For example, the texture you select will be consistent throughout the glass, but there can be some variation in the density of the air bubbles across larger pieces. As well, our polished surfaces have a sleek, smooth finish, but there may be some very small variation in the flatness. This will not affect how you use your new countertop, as objects will rest evenly upon it.
Due to the manner in which glass refracts light, the exact color of the glass may appear slightly different on a full size counter as compared to the 4” X 6” sample we send on request.
